The influence of Jesus

There’s no doubt that Jesus existed and lived in Israel a couple thousand years ago.  For someone to deny the existence of this Man would be as silly as denying the existence of Abraham Lincoln or any other great historical figure.  There’s simply too many historical facts and documentations that confirm the truth.  Jesus caused a stirring during His lifetime with His ministry impact and profound teaching and claims. Even non-Christian history books both confirm his existence and His following.  And then of course there’s the bible that tells the most accurate story of His life.  You should consider reading it and then testing the authenticity of it’s claims.

The ones that were close to Jesus and believed in Him were changed for the rest of their lifetime.  Many of them walked with Him for only a short period of time but still yet lived entirely different after they encountered Him as if a whole new set of values and view of life was given to them.  Here we are thousands of years later and His following increases by the thousands every single day.  Real people from all over the world are still encountering Him, and like the people in history when He was alive and with them physically, are massively influenced and changed.

The primary reason Jesus still influences people is simple; He’s alive and not dead.  This simple fact sets Christianity aside to be like no other.  This is what makes Jesus different compared to the other influential spiritual leaders of history such as Muhammad, Budha and others.  They unlike Jesus were ONLY men.  The lived, had influence, died and remained dead in the grave.   However Jesus proved to be different.  He was MORE than just a man.  He was God…in the flesh.

He lived, had influence, died…but came back from the dead a few short days later.  His body never saw the decay of death in the grave.  He proved that He has power over death.  He proved that He is the One that gives life when He chooses.  He gave powerful proof that His claims were real.  Even His public ministry before He died was marked with raising people from the dead.  His death was massively public, recorded in history under the Roman Empire.  His resurrection, also public, being seen alive by only a few at first but eventually to hundreds, thousands and now well into the tens of millions these many years later.

Here’s what’s the most interesting to me.  The ones that are influenced by Him, they become selfless in their pursuit and devotion to Him.  What I mean is that they are not in it for themselves, to become known, to inherit big mansions or sensual realities in the “afterlife”.  No, rather, they are in it because of the worth of this Jesus.  He is found with what the inward soul of humans crave…God Himself.  There’s no greater human experience than experiencing the life and heart of our Maker.  We, humans, were made for this!  We were made for God.

And this is why Jesus will continue to be the most influential spiritual leader ever…ever.  Because He is our Maker.  He is God, there is no other.  He will touch the inner-man, the heart, more than any other.  He knows us to well…He made you.

God reveal Jesus to every person that reads this.

Be blessed,

Wes

I was really stirred by the last paragraph. I have never put that together before but its so true. True Christianity is the only religion where the followers of it live and die to make much of the God they serve. Everyone else lives to make much of themselves in the life after death or in this life.
